Eugene Schwartz, an international speaker on education, refers to a new and important book Last Child in the Woods, by Richard Louv in his testimonial of Orcaschool:

"The observations have been confirmed by Richard Louv, whose book, Last child in the Woods, paints a vivid picture of how rapidly the alienation of children from nature has occurred in the past generation...Rob Harrington had spoken to me some years ago of his vision of creating a Waldorf school in which the California coast would be part of the classroom. Those were the days before "Nature-Deficit Disorder" had been identified, but in every year since that initial conversation we had, Rob's vision has grown into an "idea whose time has come"."
