As a vital part of their learning, each child creates an ongoing record of the main lesson subject in special books filled with composition, poems, observations, diagrams and illustrations.
A fully integrated lesson block covers the subject from each academic perspective.
For example, studies of Greek and Roman history may include maps of ancient Greece, readings from classical prose, drawings of mythical characters, study of the Greek alphabet, and counting with roman numerals. Children may also engage their skills in the dramatic arts through a live performance with costumed characters; or participate in a Greek Pentathlon with fifth graders from the Waldorf Schools of Southern California.
