Music-Orff Schulwerk is an inspired way of working with teaching music based on a whole child approach to learning through rhythms and songs on percussion and xylophone instruments and includes folk dances and clapping exercises. It is a dynamic way for children and teachers to learn how to work in harmony together.

Festivals-at Orcaschool include the whole community in singing, folk dances and homemade foods in celebration of the seasons and cycles of the year together. This is an important aspect of our school as we celebrate the changes in autumn with a fire circle on the beach, winter is a celebration of our Light in the darkness, and spring is a festival of sharing the fruits of our work during the year with the larger community and in service to our sisterschool in Kali Panj.
